What Category Do Your Employees Fall Into?

PHILADELPHIA -A recent study finds that developing environments that enhance levels of employee commitment can help retain top performers. The TNS Intersearch Organizational Development Practice Survey suggests that employees generally fall into four groups based on their commitment to their employers: Ambassadors, who are fully committed to the company and to their work; Company Oriented, who are fully committed to their company – more so than their work and career; Career Oriented, who are more interested in furthering their career and put their needs over the needs of the company; and Disengaged, the employee segment that no company wants since they are neither committed to their company or to their career. The research also finds that enhancing those factors that drive Ambassador commitment including opportunities to advance and rewards based on performance, would increase the commitment of all other segments in an organization.
