DENVER – With a name change and a new marketing push, Denver Public Schools Credit Union is launching its “first ever” branding campaign to attract new members and has hired a Denver advertising and public relations firm to do the job. At the same time, in applications filed with the state, the CU, now known as DPS Credit Union, has added new zip codes in Lowry and the Cherry Creek area, and it expects to open a new branch in Lowry April 1. DPSCU President and CEO Alan Peppers said the CU’s new look “will enhance our awareness of the DPS Credit Union brand by creating a more dynamic image easily recognized by members and potential members throughout Colorado,” particularly those with more than affiliation with Denver schools. The branding campaign was created and is being managed by the Denver-based Solis Group. A new logo has been created as well as a new tagline, “You’ll be Amazed at what DPS CU Can Do For You.” DPS said the campaign will focus on communicating to the public that the CU’s “relationship is deeper than the average banking customer.” The branding campaign includes a new logo and creative print ads and “will introduce multiple direct mail pieces, supported with statement inserts, point of sale” plus community articles, newsletters and statement stuffers. With $500 million in assets, DPS is Colorado’s sixth largest CU and serves 35,000 members. It has 40 branches and was founded in 1934. -
