SHREWSBURY, Mass. – David L’Ecuyer, president/CEO of Central One FCU was selected by Gov. Mitt Romney here to serve on the newly-created Massachusetts Turnpike Commission that will work to save the state millions of dollars each year. L’Ecuyer joins seven other officials including legislators, university administrators, a former Internal Revenue investigator and several venture capitalists who were appointed to the commission that aims to identify ways to even the toll burden here and for drivers in New Hampshire. Romney has called for combining the administrative operations of the state’s turnpike authority and the highway department, which he says would save the state from $20 million to $55 million. A report from the commission is expected by the end of March. Established in 1952, Central One FCU serves more than 26,000 members and has more than $192 million in assets.
