HALES CORNERS, Wis. – After much talk, Corporate Central Credit Union has done it; it has opened an office in Minnesota. The office will be located in a facility of the state’s largest CU, the $1 billion NWA FCU in Bloomington, Minn. It will headquarter Corporate Central’s Business Development Representative and serve as the in-state location from which Minnesota credit unions may obtain information about Corporate Central’s products and services. Some controversy surrounded Corporate Central’s interest in Minnesota as its push into the state came shortly after Mid-States and Minnesota Corporate announced merger plans. Also, originally Corporate Central CU was told by the Minnesota regulator that it could not open an office in Minnesota because it was not federally-insured; that issue has been worked out. Mid-States in turn is planning on opening an office in Wisconsin, likely in the Milwaukee or Madison area.
