SAN DIMAS, Calif. – For credit union shared branching network Financial Service Centers Cooperative 2002 marks the year of eastward expansion. Branches opened include the Manhattan branch of California-based First Entertainment Credit Union, seven branches of New Hampshire-based Service Credit Union, two branches of Massachusetts-based Digital Credit Union, and the Bedminster branch of New Jersey-based Affinity Federal Credit Union. As shared branching helps credit unions meet their members' needs while also playing up the credit union difference, experts predict the growth trend will continue in 2003.
