0% Financing Offers Expire

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – National 0% financing offers from the Big Three auto manufacturers expired Jan. 1, 2003. At press time, none of the company had announced any new incentives to replace them. Zero-percent financing offers from auto manufacturers that began shortly after 9-11 and which continued through 2002 have become an industry trademark and help boost the industry’s sales. One industry expert estimated North American auto manufacturers provided about $40 million in incentives. The problem though is that while the incentives have boosted sales, they’ve cut into manufacturers’ profits. Even so, some manufacturers are continuing to offer their own incentives on a regional basis, including special financing deals in lieu of rebates and zero payments for 90 days. [email protected]
