State Employees Credit Union, Lansing, Mich., has named Kelly Marsh as the recipient of its First Annual C.O.R.E. Award. C.O.R.E. stands for Creative, Optimistic, Respected, and Empowered. Marsh was recognized for living the values, providing extraordinary service to members and co-workers, and making her job fun. The four finalists included Jackie Fedewa, Paula Parker, Robin Stewart, and Lori Trainor. The Alamo Chapter of Credit Unions, San Antonio, Texas, has named Charlie Amato and Roland E. Klar, Jr. as the recipients of the inaugural TCUL Distinguished Service Award. Amato co-founded "Credit Unions for Kids" in 1985, a grass-roots program comprised of credit unions that raises money for the Children's Miracle Network. Klar began his dedicated volunteer service to the nation's CU movement in 1988 serving on Texas Transportation FCU's board of directors for 27 years – 14 years as chairman. His volunteer service included leadership positions with the Alamo Chapter of Credit Unions, the State Employee Credit Union Association, and the Texas Credit Union League.
