WASHINGTON – The Association of Corporate Credit Unions saw its intense leader move on. Gigi Hyland stepped down as the ACCU's Executive Director to take a legal position with Empire Corporate FCU. Talk to just about any corporate credit union CEO and they credit Hyland with not only putting the ACCU on the map in Washington, but in helping shape the new corporate credit union reg, Part 704. Hyland, an attorney, was known for her ability to digest complex matters, communicate with NCUA, and find ways to use the input of all of the ACCU's corporate members in some way. Michael Canning, 41, is ACCU's new executive director and VP of corporate CU relations for CUNA. Canning also has a legal background, and was most recently founding executive director for the Americans for Consumer Education and Competition. -
