WALLINGFORD, Conn. – For the fifth consecutive year, the Connecticut Credit Union Association will pay a rebate on membership dues to credit unions that renew their membership with the association. This year’s rebate will be 5% of 2002 membership dues when CUs renew their CCUA membership for 2003. In previous years, CCUA has rebated members 5% and 10% for two years each. In the past five years, CCUA has returned $380,621 in dues rebates to its members. CCUA Communications Coordinator Bill Clarke said the rebates will be disbursed beginning in January. The deadline for affiliated credit unions to renew their memberships with CCUA is Jan. 15. There are 177 credit unions in Connecticut, and at the present 139 are CCUA members. Clarke said “there are always a few” who don’t renew their memberships, but the reaffiliation rate is “usually high.”
