MADISON, Wis. – United Datatronics, Inc., of Tallahassee, Florida, was awarded CUNA’s first-ever Trainer of the Year Award recently at CUNA’s Experience Learning Live conference in San Diego, Calif. The award is part of a new trainers’ awards program, recognizing excellence in credit union staff training and development. “We had some outstanding submissions, particularly for the program’s first year,” Amy Schneider, of Marine Credit Union (Fond du Lac, Wis.) and a judge, said. “Our job as judges was not an easy one.” “Credit unions are doing some amazing things in staff development and education, and they deserve to be recognized and commended for the outstanding work they do,” CUNA Center for Professional Development Vice President Jill Tomalin said. The runner-up for Trainer of the Year, earning the Award of Merit, was Paige Westbury, South Carolina FCU in Charleston, South Carolina. Also part of the program was the Training Champion Award, honoring the CEO or member of senior management for their support and development of a credit union’s training initiatives; the Chi Pi Delta C P D Award, recognizing the best development of a credit union university using the CUNA Center for Professional Development products; the e-Learning Award, honoring effective incorporations of technology into staff training and development; and the Standing Ovation Award, recognizing the credit union professional who demonstrates talent in facilitating a training program.
