MOSINEE, Wis. -Wausau Financial Systems will integrate its payment and archive platforms OptimaT and ImageRPS with Zions Management Services Company's NetDepositT platform, a tool that accelerates check processing that uses image exchange and image replacement documents. WFS, ZMSC, EDS, and the Western Payments Alliance (WesPay)-one of the largest payment associations in the U.S.-are organizing an image exchange pilot for financial institutions to enable the use of image exchange and IRDs among participants. The pilot is planned for early in the first quarter of 2003 and will expand the ability of participants to electronically process a broader range of transaction and clear items directly to paying banks. The agreement will also allow remittance customers to select from a broader range of clearing options. For example, they'll be able to determine at the item level how an electronic item is cleared, using NACHA ARC, the conversion of checks into electronic ACH transaction, IRD, or electronic presentment.
