Southwest Corporate gives members same day access to cleared checks

DALLAS – Southwest Corporate FCU is giving CU members access to their cleared checks the very day they are processed. The corporate can pull this off by uploading images every two hours throughout the day, instead of the “batch” process where the images are uploaded one time at night. It expects 60 to 70% of the checks to be available for viewing by noon each business day. “All images for that day will be available for viewing by 8:00 p.m. CST,” said Sam Palmgren, senior project manager at Southwest Corporate. The corporate said the new fast response service can be a fraud fighting tool as members can quickly see checks that have cleared recently. The same day service is available to credit unions via TranZact and to credit union members via Internet-based services offered by their credit unions. Southwest Corporate began offering online check image access through TranZact and the Net last year. Credit unions and their members are requesting more than 600,000 check images per month.
