In Memoriam

Louisiana Credit Union League, Harahan, is very sad to announce that Lafayette District Telephone Credit Union President/CEO Allen Comeaux, has recently passed away at the age of 58. Comeaux, CCUE, served on the credit union’s board of directors prior to becoming President/CEO of the credit union in December 1995. A member of the CU Cooperative Branching, Inc. Board of Directors since 1999, Comeaux was also an active member of the Louisiana Credit Union League’s Legislative Committee and was the recipient of the League’s Political Involvement Award. In addition he served as Treasurer of the Louisiana ICCUE Chapter and was an active member of the Lafayette Credit Union Chapter. He coordinated and coached neighborhood youth in football, basketball, baseball, softball, and soccer, culminating in coaching the Comeaux High School girls soccer team to the state championship as well as receiving High School Coach of the Year honors in 1993. In 1997, the Comeaux Recreation Center was constructed and named in his honor.
