OREM, Utah – Mountain America has sold its former Orem-branch building to Bank One. The 6,400 square-foot building at 1115 South 800 East had been up for sale since April. The credit union said it had a “few interested parties” that wanted to buy the property, but Bank One was the first to respond. Mountain America Properties is part of MACU’s CUSO. Mountain America originally planned to update the branch, but it determined it would be more cost effective to sell the old building and build a new one. The new Orem branch is at 1219 South 800 East. Mountain America currently has 30 branch locations throughout Utah, plus one in Albuquerque, N.M. and another in Phoenix, Ariz. Two more branches are scheduled to open in Nevada later this year. Mountain America’s headquarters is at 660 South 200 East in Salt Lake City. Mountain America is the second largest CU in Utah, with $1 billion in assets and more than 157,000 members.
