Chetco Federal Credit Union, Harbor, Ore.,has held a hot dog sale fundraiser for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Members lined up to purchase a meal which included a hot dog, bag of chips, and a small soda for a donation of $2. Deere Harvester Credit Union, Moline, Ill., has raised more than $3,600 through its Chain of Hearts campaign to benefit chronically ill and disabled children treated at the Children’s Hospital of Iowa at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The campaign raised funds through the sale of paper links assembled into a chain measuring over three and a half football fields, enough to fill a Volkswagen Beetle. Each link included the names of credit union members and their loved one. DHCU’s Chain of Hearts is part of a statewide fundraising effort for the Children’s Miracle Network. CMN is currently raising money for the new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Family Lounge, which will be completed in 2003.
