<p>FORT WORTH, Texas – For its 75th anniversary celebration Unity One Federal Credit Union is bringing the movies to its members. Launched earlier this year, the “Unity One is your ticket to the movies” campaign offers members the chance to win a grand prize of a complete Home Theatre System valued up to $3,000. All members in good standing, age 18 and over are automatically entered, and they can increase their chance to win by opening a monthly “featured service”. Featured services include credit cards, debit cards, auto loans, home loans, savings, and checking. In addition to earning an extra grand prize entry for each “feature” opened, members are entered into a quarterly drawing for a chance to win a DVD player, assortment of movies, and plenty of movie snacks and popcorn. “We wanted to find a fun way to educate members about our services while celebrating our 75th anniversary and really saying thank you to them,” said Unity One FCU Marketing Officer Nicki Fettig. “We wanted something that would be more interactive so originally the contest was going to be vacation then we came up with the movie ticket theme and all the fun images that could accompany the copy and as for the prize who wouldn’t want a home theater system?” With a $24,000 budget, the $82 million credit union turned to Indianapolis-based advertising agency Englehart Dicken Inc. to help make movie marketing magic. The result is direct mail, statement stuffers, posters, and banners, which have the feel of a movie preview and feature a family watching a movie using just the glow of their private home system as lighting. “So far the response has been wonderful,” said Fettig. “Since this is almost a nine-month promotion we wanted to keep the excitement and interest going so the drawings in July and October will help. Also to keep the employees equally motivated we started an incentive program.” Split into three teams named Pulp Fiction, Gung Ho, and Charlie’s Angels, made up of a mix of tellers, loan officers, support staff etc., the teams compete to meet monthly goals for featured services. Team captains are rotated and monthly drawings are held for $25 gift certificates. In addition, each member of the overall winning team that hit the most monthly goals by November wins a DVD player.
