<p>MADISON, Wis.-CUNA’s Board nominations closed July 17. Prior to that CUNA received 13 nominations for just nine empty seats, leaving just four contested elections. Ballots will be mailed June 20 to eligible credit unions. Joe Prokop, CEO of TEG FCU is running against Kraft Foods FCU CEO Holly Herman in District 1 (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands) for Class B (14,000 to 51,999 members). Alhambra Credit Union CEO Mary Shipe and Oklahoma Health Services Federal Credit Union CEO Jim Williams are going head to head for the District 5 (Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming) seat representing credit unions up to 13,999 members (Class A). Finally, in District 6 (Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington State, American Samoa, Guam, and other Pacific Islands) for Class B (14,000 to 51,999 members), CUNA Chairman Barry Jolette, CEO of San Mateo Credit Union, is being challenged by fellow Californian American River HealthPro Credit Union CEO Bob Steponovich The deadline to vote is July 29 and winners will be announced on Aug. 1, and then seated during CUNA’s Symposium and Annual General Meeting in September to take place in Orlando. Winners receive a three-year term, except for the District 6 Class B race, which is a special election for a two-year term.</p>
