WASHINGTON – A new online Callahan & Associates survey finds that members who use their credit union's Internet services are forming closer ties to the credit union by using more services. About half (54%) of the 16,330 respondents from 14 CUs said their use of CU services has increased overall since they started using Internet banking. Over 83% said they have their paychecks direct deposited into the CU, while only 5.6% do not deposit their paycheck into a credit union account. Probably the most compelling finding is that close to 60% of respondents said if they moved to an area with no CU branch, use of their credit union wouldn't change much at all. About 13% of those surveyed said they already live in an area that doesn't have a CU branch.
