U.S. Senate FCU to hold special meeting

<p>ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The U.S. Senate FCU will hold a special meeting to resolve its ongoing dispute over a recent board election. In the wake of a hotly and closely contested March 27 board election, the board expanded from eleven to thirteen, to accommodate both the newly elected members and incumbent members who would have lost their seats in the election. The expansion, however, drew a member petition for a special meeting to recall the board members who had voted for it. The credit union will hold the special meeting on June 14 at 1:30 p.m. in one of the ground floor rooms of the Dirksen Senate office building. Senate will be in session from June 3 to June 28 and the credit union tried to choose a day and time within that schedule to encourage the most attendees, according to Robert Klonoski, U.S. Senate FCU’s Director of Marketing. The credit union’s bylaws require the members at the meeting to vote whether to recall each of the six board members in question after each board member has made a statement. It is unclear what impact a recent compromise aimed at resolving the conflict will have, Klonoski.</p>
