MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – Members 1st FCU wants to make going to college more affordable for its members. The $671-million credit union will absorb the cost of two origination points on the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency’s Keystone BLSTT Stafford Loan for the academic year 2002-2003. The remaining origination point is underwritten by PHEAA. The “zero points” offer is good for all members of Members 1st, regardless of whether they are a Pennsylvania resident, that attend an approved school in the state. Students applying for the loan will also receive a 2% interest rate reduction after 48 consecutive on-time payments, and a .25% interest rate reduction for automatic debit of payments.
