<p>WASHINGTON – The New York Cash Exchange, whose network services 45,000 credit union and bank ATM machines across the Northeast, says that its network already supports transactions though voice activated ATMs and that its data division will develop software to drive the machines later this year. Banknorth has announced that it will install 400 of the Voice Activated ATM across its Northeast Branches as part of an agreement with the National Federation of the Blind. “Since we are a network we are more concerned about the transactions themselves than about how the machines interact with their users,” said Susan Zawodniak, Executive Director of the NYCE network. “However, we are already able to support transactions from these new machines and will have software able to drive them later this year,” she said. If any NYCE network financial institution wants to install the machines, NYCE will be able to support their doing it, she added.</p>
