HONOLULU – Hawaii State FCU, Hawaii’s largest credit union, has partnered with Hawaii Business College to provide free job skills training to those of its members who lost their jobs as a ripple effect on Hawaii’s economy of September 11′s terrorist attacks. HSFCU President Deborah Kim said Career Pathways is a joint effort to help transform hardship into new opportunities. The program will offer two customized non-credit modules for HSFCU members – Career Development and Computer Applications. The credit union and Hawaii Business College will subsidize the tuition and textbook costs. Upon completion of any one of the three classes in either module, participating members will receive a certificate of completion, allowing the members to list the course on their resumes. HSFCU has 52,000 members and more than $506 million in assets.
