MADISON, Wis.-CUNA’s Center for Professional Development is providing some new avenues for credit unions to learn how to expand their business lending services as part of an overall effort to help credit unions provide business services to their members. Opportunities for credit unions include the Business Lending and Services Institute and a new five-part business lending audio conference series. The trade group is also planning a National Business Services Conference for fall 2002 and is currently developing a Business Lending Certification Program. “Helping credit unions provide business services to members is a major priority for CUNA, and education is an important part of that,” says Mike Miller, senior vice president of CUNA’s Center for Professional Development. “We have been working with the University of Wisconsin Small Business Department to bring our Business Lending Institute to credit unions since 1998.” The Business Lending and Services Institute is set for July 22 – 25, in Madison, Wisconsin. The program is divided between those new to business lending and those looking to expand their programs. In addition, CUNA is offering a five-part series of audio conferences on business services, starting April 24, 2002.
