Publisher Mike Welch is on the move again. His weekly publisher’s column of opinion is again being moved to a new page location, the third time in the last five years. The column called page six home for a number of years, up until the standard weekly issue increased to 24 pages in early 1997. As the smallest issue size increased to 28 pages, the column was bumped back to page eight. It wasn’t long before 32 pages became the smallest weekly issue. The column was moved again, this time to page 10. Now that the smallest issue has increased to 36 pages (like this one), the weekly publisher’s column will now appear four pages further back. Look for it on page 14 each week. Readers shouldn’t be surprised if the column moves again not too far down the road. To fulfill our commitment to being the credit union industry’s publication of record, the number of pages in the smallest (and largest) size issue is sure to continue to go up. But the most important reason the number of pages continues to increase, and the column keeps moving, is that credit unions are making more news than ever. That simple statement means that because of this publication’s commitment to cover credit union news from A to Z, we need more news pages in the front of the book. Moving the column back is one way to accomplish that. Things at Credit Union Times are definitely on the move. -

[email protected]
