<p>COLUMBIA, S.C. – Forget the Minuteman, Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Co. has rolled out a new name and brand earlier this year, Colonial Supplemental Insurance. According to Colonial Supplemental Insurance, the new name is shorter, professional, and stays true to its product category. The new brand swaps the longtime Colonial-era logo for a more modern look, a pair of “C’s” surrounding an inner circle and a new tagline-”For what happens next”. Each element of the logo has a unique representation. The blue “C” represents the good in life, while the gray “C” stands for unforeseen challenges. Together, they represent protection for individuals and their families. The inner circle characterizes Colonial as the core – offering balance, continuity, and peace of mind – for what happens next. Positioning itself as the company that is “here for our customers”, the new branding and advertising campaign is intended to educate consumers on the value of supplemental insurance. Colonial’s 2002 branding and advertising campaign consists of print, TV, radio, and outdoor advertisements. In addition, Colonial is launching the new design of its public Web site. The ads are geared toward consumers and decision-makers. Each consumer ad focuses on a real-life challenge in someone’s life with the message that Colonial will help ease the burden of the unexpected. The decision-maker ads highlight Colonial’s strengths.
