<p>Langley Federal Credit Union, Hampton, Va., has recently received both first and second place honors in the Virginia Credit Union League’s “Maximum Marketing” awards competition. The competition recognizes credit unions that demonstrate a strategic approach to marketing. LFCU placed first in the $100 million asset category for its redesigned Web site and second for the development of a member relationship program entitled “Premier Membership.” Fiscal Federal Credit Union, Glendale, Calif., has recognized the County of Los Angeles Treasurer and Tax Collector Department as the FFCU Employer of the Month. Every month the credit union honors one of its many progressive and caring organizations with this special award. The Treasurer and Tax Collector Department was selected for is efforts in consistently informing employees of benefits available. In addition to the award the Employer of the Month is placed on display at each of- the three credit union branches. Credit Union Human Resources Development Network, Boulder City, Nev., has recognized several credit union members for their leadership. The Virginia Baldauf HRD Network Professional of the Year is nominated by CEOs for outstanding achievement at their credit union. This year there were four outstanding nominees: Norton Community CU Human Resources Vice President Amy Brown; Government Agencies FCU H.R. Vice President Maria Lopez; LBS Financial CU H.R. Vice President Joanne Peake; and Santa Ana FCU Human Resources Manager Marilou Guerrero. Lopez received the award for her demonstration of outstanding leadership within the credit union and the movement. In addition, the Suzanne Carlisle HRD Network Trainer’s Scholarship has been presented to United Health CU CEO Linda White, and the Patti Reed Scholarship has been awarded to Burbank FCU’s Yolanda Barajas. AEA Federal Credit Union, Yuma, Ariz., has been voted “Yuma’s Best 2001″. The competition, sponsored by the Yuma Daily Sun newspaper, allows residents to vote for their favorite organizations in various categories. The newspaper included a “Financial Institution/Bank” category for the first time this year and in a county of over a quarter of a million residents AEA FCU came out on top. AEA FCU places great emphasis on giving back to the community and holds monthly fundraising events for various local charitable organizations and sponsors a High School Scholarship Program.</p>
