<p>WASHINGTON – Malcolm Bush, president of the Woodstock Institute, credit union member and recent credit union critic is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition. The NCRC has sued the NCUA over how the agency reversed the controversial CAP regulation. Other members of the Board include Eugene Lowe of the U.S. Conference of Mayors and Cameron Whitman of the National League of Cities. The organization remains hazy over exactly how many credit union members they have, as well as their names. “We have over 700 community development organizations and corporations in our membership,” said David Berenbaum, “some of which are credit unions or have credit unions attached to them or work with credit unions.” Berenbaum said that NCRC does not break out its membership by type of institution or group. So far only Alternatives Federal Credit Union in Ithaca, NY, and the National Federation of Community Development Credit Union, have identified themselves as NCRC members for the record.</p>
