MADISON, Wis. – CUNA's Center for Professional Development is offering scholarships to credit unions with assets of $10 million or less to help pay for online learning. Scholarships are available for up to 50% of subscription costs, and will be awarded based on need. Scholarships can be used to fund the cost of the online learning programs through CUNA's CPD. "We're confident that the Web-based training scholarship will help leagues and league foundations provide a tremendous resource to smaller credit unions. Oftentimes, these organizations find it very challenging to attend traditional face-to-face programs," said Plumer Lovelace, director of training technology for CUNA. Courses cover a wide range of credit union-specific topics including: credit union fundamentals, regulatory compliance, financial management, lending and collections, member services, security, and technology. Determination of scholarship funds will be based primarily on applicants' explanation of how online training will assist their credit union.
