COLORADO SPRINGS – Ent Federal Credit Union will celebrate 45 years of service in Colorado Springs on February 20, 2002. Ent FCU has grown from having just 30 members and $602 in assets in 1857 to one of the leading financial institutions in Colorado serving more than 137,000 members with $1.4 billion in assets. "We mark this milestone with pride," said Ent President and CEO Charles Emmer. "As we have grown over the years, we have made serving members our top priority through a variety of programs, financial services, and conveniently located member service centers." It was chartered in 1957 to serve military and civilian personnel assigned to Ent Air Force Base and Peterson Field in Colorado Springs. Ent FCU was named for Major General Uzal Girard Ent, commander of the Ninth Air Force during World War II. In June 1999, the charter was amended to a community credit union, serving residents of Teller and El Paso counties, and their families. Ent will mark its 45th anniversary throughout the year with various events aimed at members and employees.
