<p>First Community Credit Union, St. Louis, Mo., has opened its latest branch in St. Charles. The full-service branch features four drive-up lanes and a drive-up ATM. The branch was designed by HBE Corporation, a design/build firm. @LANTEC Financial Federal Credit Union, Virginia Beach, Va., has opened its fourth branch in the Greenbrier section of Chesapeake. The new branch is a full-service facility that includes a 24-hour ATM with depository and drive-thru banking. Langley Federal Credit Union, Newport News, Va., has held a groundbreaking ceremony for its latest branch. The new branch, opening later this year, will feature improved parking, expanded drive-thru service, and more space to serve members. San Antonio Federal Credit Union, Texas, and San Antonio Alternative Housing Corporation executives joined State Representative Jose Menendez, City Councilman Enrique Barrera, other community partners and future homeowners at the ribbon cutting that officially opened the Resurrection Drive subdivision, a new affordable housing development. Through the People Helping People program, the two organizations have provided homes for more than 100 families, funding loans totaling approximately $7 million. SAAHC provides financial counseling for the families, with the support of SACU loan personnel, and SACU provides funding for the loans to new residents once they have successfully completed the financial counseling and loan application processes. Alcoa Employees & Community Credit Union, Davenport, Iowa has announced a new branch location to be built in Davenport. Construction of the 4,600 square-foot building is expected to begin as early as March of 2002 with an opening date scheduled for the fall of 2002. The site will offer frontage road access and will provide additional parking for the members along with four drive-up lanes and a drive-up ATM. Architectural design has been coordinated with NewGround Inc., a design/build firm. Keesler Federal Credit Union, Biloxi, Miss., has celebrated the grand opening of its Gautier branch. The new branch was constructed by J.O.Collins Contractors Inc. Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union, St. Paul, Minn. has completed the purchase of an 18,000 square-foot building on two acres of land from I & J Partnership for $1,330,000. Adjacent to APFCU headquarters and main branch, the State Street location will house the IT, centralized record retention and long-term document storage operations. The newly expanded headquarters campus will ultimately house 50% of the APFCU staff. In addition, the property provides the credit union with room to grow within a single location. Arkansas Federal Credit Union, Jacksonville, has purchased 1.569 acres at 1221 South Shackleford to build a new, state-of-the-art, branch facility. The new branch will replace the storefront office currently located in Westchase Plaza at 301 North Shackleford. Ground breaking for the new branch will be in early March with a grand opening sometime in late 2002. In addition, AFCU has held a grand opening ceremony for its Conway branch. The new branch features 2,500 square-feet of office space, parking for 20 vehicles, four drive-up lanes and a drive-up ATM.</p>
