<p>NEW YORK – Cliff Rosenthal, executive director of the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions, did his part in helping launch the new .coop domain name. Rosenthal participated in a .coop kick-off ceremony, “Live from New York”, held at the office of 1st Rochdale Cooperative in New York City. Also present from the credit union movement was Michael Connery, Jr., President/CEO of the United Nations Federal Credit Union “Dot.coop is extremely useful to us in branding our organization. There are many good organizations that are involved in providing financial services to low-income communities, but only credit unions are cooperatives, owned by and accountable to the members they serve. The dot.coop designation will help us reinforce that point, nationally and internationally,” said Rosenthal. The National Federation has purchased four names in the new domain, including “cdcu.coop.” Over the next few months NFCDCU will migrate its Web site (www.natfed.org) to the new domain.
