NASCUS welcomes new NCUA Board members

<p>ARLINGTON, Va. – NASCUS President Doug Duerr and Chairman Jerrie Lattimore, administrator for the Credit Union Division of North Carolina, met with NCUA’s two newest board members, JoAnn Johnson and Deborah Matz, on Feb. 1 and left feeling “encouraged by the immediate flexibility of both members to accommodate quality meeting with us during their first days on the job,” said Lattimore. “This is clearly a sign that both new members recognize how imperative it is for us to work together on dual chartering and other issues important to state regulators and state-chartered credit unions,” Lattimore added. Lattimore and Duerr were joined at their meetings with Johnson and Matz by NASCUS Second Vice Chair Roger Little, director, Credit Union Division of Michigan, and NASCUS Vice President of Advocacy Jonathan Lindley. The meetings with Johnson and Matz were held separately. Duerr said he found the meetings to be “very productive,” and offered that they “provided us a nice opportunity to share with both new members the history and purpose of NASCUS. Both members were very attentive and seemed eager to learn more about our role in the examination process and our positions on various key issues.” NASCUS’ role in certification, education, regulatory development, and government affairs were also discussed during the meetings.</p>
