Sit back and listen to the story of one of the many State Employees working for the people of North Carolina. Story Hi, I’m Carla Obiol and I’m proud to work for North Carolina. I’m Director of the Seniors Health Insurance Information Program or SHIIP, a division of the North Carolina Department of Insurance. We offer free education and counseling on Medicare issues and long-term care insurance. SHIIP provides toll-free telephone counseling, information by mail and trained volunteer counselors in every county. Last year SHIIP counseled over 32,000 citizens.
