I'm Director of the Seniors Health Insurance Information Program or SHIIP, a division of the North Carolina Department of Insurance. We offer free education and counseling on Medicare issues and long-term care insurance. SHIIP provides toll-free telephone counseling, information by mail and trained volunteer counselors in every county. Last year SHIIP counseled over 32,000 citizens.
