MADISON, Wis. – WesCorp President/CEO Dick Johnson is the recipient of the 2002 Herb Wegner Memorial Award for Lifetime Achievement. The award recognizes the contributions he has made to the industry throughout his CU career. Johnson is set to retire from WesCorp later this year. There is currently an executive search being conducted for his replacement. Johnson's story is well-known in the industry. He had a successful, 30-year career in the U.S. Marine Corps before joining the credit union industry. He served as CE0 of a small credit union before joining what was then known as the California Central FCU in 1976. WesCorp is now the nation's largest corporate with over $15 billion in assets. It has members in 31 states and last year eclipsed $1 billion in capital. It is the only corporate with all four expanded investment powers granted by NCUA. -

[email protected]
