<p>THORNDALE, Pa. – Citadel Credit Union has joined forces with the Chester County Intermediate Unit to create an award to honor teachers here. The first of its kind in Chester County, the Citadel Heart of Learning Award recognizes those teachers dedicated to making the classroom and world a better place. Students, parents, teachers and administrators can nominate teachers for the award. Nominations close March 1st and finalists will be announced in April. Three $1500 awards and a prize package will be presented to the winners at a May 6th banquet – one each to an elementary school, middle school and high school teacher. Fifteen finalists will each receive $500. Citadel is advertising the program through radio, television and local newspapers. "We felt that creating this award was a great way to give something back to our community," said CFCU Vice President of Marketing/Training Michael Schnably. "After all, teaching is more than just a job. It's a lifelong commitment."</p>
