MADISON, Wis. – Well the search for a CEO is over for CUNA Credit Union. After conducting a nationwide search, the CUNA Credit Union Board has appointed Kim Sponem President/ CEO. Sponem, with 12 years of credit union experience, replaces Mary Cunningham who moved to San Diego to head USA Federal Credit Union. Sponem recently served as interim president and joined CUNA Credit Union in l995 as vice president of marketing before being promoted to vice president of planning and development and then executive vice-president. "Kim Sponem brings a wonderful vision, a deep understanding of the credit union mission, a passion for serving our members in Southern Wisconsin, and a desire to see employees succeed in their careers," said Bill Klewin, chairman of the CUNA Credit Union Board of Directors and vice-president of CUNA Mutual Group. CUNA CU has more than 42,000 members and $220 million in assets.
