Hispanic College Fund, Embark and MasterCard International team up to offer scholarships

<p>NEW YORK – The Hispanic College Fund has announced that applications for college scholarships are now available on its Web site, at www.hispanicfund.com . The Hispanic College Fund has teamed with Embark, a division of the Princeton Review, to design the technology for the online applications, and with MasterCard International to fund the project. The online applications have already shown a dramatic response from Hispanic students. In the first week it was available, over 700 students began the application process, which is well over the number of applications submitted last year at the same time. The Hispanic College Fund awards scholarships to talented Hispanic students who plan to complete an undergraduate college degree in business or technology related majors. “MasterCard is excited by this unique opportunity to help the Fund provide more access to students through online applications,” said David Ruth, MasterCard senior vice president of global communications. Given the current economic situation, hundreds of thousands of students are seeking help to finance their college education.
