WASHINGTON – Over 800 bills which could affect credit union operations were introduced in state legislatures last year. CUNA, in cooperation with credit union leagues, has published a compilation of summaries of the bills in "How States Are Changing the Financial Services Industry: ATMs to UCC, 2001." The bill summaries are categorized into 82 topics ranging from Abandoned Property to Volunteer Protection. To receive further detailed information on a particular bill, the book provides contact information for the appropriate person at the league where the bill was introduced. Details are also available on CUNA's State Government Affairs Web site, or by referring to the state legislature's Web site and using the bill number.
