Corporate credit unions embraced technology in 2001. A number of corporates launched bill pay. Four corporates used their economies of scale to get a better pricing deal to offer its member CUs bill payment. This deal involved CenCorp, SunCorp, Empire Corporate, Southwest Corporate, all of which have launched their bill pay solutions. Mid-Atlantic Corporate FCU continued to experience tremendous success with its bill pay solution. It is providing bill pay processing to over 160 CUs, and has deals to offer the product to member CUs of TriCorp and Louisiana Corporate CU. Corporates also beefed up their online offerings, allowing CUs to do more with them electronically. WesCorp overhauled its online system and Southwest Corporate enhanced its system. In a first for the network, CorpStar announced that it would begin offering data processing services to CUs. The corporate has roughly $100 million in assets. U.S. Central's e-com unit, Corporate Network eCom, continued to be active with bill bay and online banking and is involved in middleware development.
