Robinson attends NCUA Board meeting

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Former NAFCU President and CEO Ken Robinson emerged from semi-retirement to attend the November NCUA Board meeting. While he admitted he was partially interested in the corporate waiver (See related story), he mostly came to see the familiar faces. Robinson wanted to congratulate NCUA Board member Geoff Bacino on his term on the agency board. He pointed out that Congress could possibly recess at Thanksgiving and not return, which would end Bacino’s tenure. Also, NCUA Board Member Yolanda Wheat’s term has already expired and will end once her replacement, expected to be Iowa State Senator JoAnn Johnson, is confirmed. Robinson also wanted to thank her for her hard work at the agency. After decades in the credit union community, Robinson found many familiar faces in the boardroom. Following bypass surgery in July, many from the credit union community had sent him cards and prayers. “I just wanted to let them know their prayers worked out,” he said.
