INDIANAPOLIS – Credit union data processor re:Member Data Services has given its customers compatibility of thermal receipt printers with its cuStar core data processing software. ASP and in-house customers can use thermal printers. “From the member’s perspective, receipts generated from thermal printers are more convenient to handle because of their small size,” said Jet CU EVP Beverly Jinkins. The credit union currently has one teller station connected to a thermal printer, but has already placed an order to purchase additional printers. “Our tellers all want the window that has the thermal printer because of its speed,” said Jinkins. In addition to being fast and producing ATM-like receipts, thermal receipt printers are quiet, economical, and smaller than standard-sized printers. Receipts can be customized with the addition of the credit union’s logo.
