HENDERSON, Ky. – An envelope containing a white, powdery substance found in a night deposit box forced the closing of a Green River Area Federal Credit Union branch until the contents could be tested. At press time, testing results from the state’s crime lab revealed that the contents “were not dangerous,” said Det. Jamie Duvall of the Henderson Police Dept. “We can confirm that the results were negative but it will be a few days before we can determine what the substance is,” Duvall said. An employee checking the deposits left in the box from the previous weekend, found the envelope early Monday morning on Oct. 29. The person immediately called the police, all four employees were evacuated from the building and the branch was closed for the remainder of the day, Duvall said. No members were present at the branch when the substance was found. The Henderson branch remained closed at press time.
