MADISON, Wis.-The Credit Union Executive Society Hall of Fame will have three new inductees. During a special ceremony at the CUES CEO Network 2001 scheduled for Nov. 4 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas, Capital City Savings CU President/CEO Harold W. Buddle, HawaiiUSA FCU President/CEO Ronald T. Ogata, and Fort Knox FCU President/CEO William J. Rissel will be honored. The CUES Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to CUES and the credit union movement. Buddle also serves as president of the CUES’ Canada West Council; vice-chairman of the Credit Union Managers Committee of Credit Union Central of Alberta; director of the Rotary Club of Edmonton; and was named Alberta Venture magazine’s 2000 Business Person of the Year. In addition to his significant community involvement, Buddle is a marathon runner, private pilot and father of nine children. Serving as President/CEO since 1988, Ogata has helped his credit union assets triple and membership has grown to become the largest in the state of Hawaii. Ogata is also a director of the Hawaii Credit Union League and President of the Oahu Chapter of Credit Unions. He was named “Executive of the Year” in 2000 by the Hawaii Credit Union League. In addition to his efforts on behalf of the credit union movement, Ogata has devoted his time to a number of community organizations. Rissel’s service to the credit union movement spans more than 25 years and he is considered a pioneer in risk-based lending. An active CUES member since 1981, his credit union was twice named best credit union in the Army, and in 1994 was named best credit union in the nation by NAFCU. In addition, Rissel was selected as the civilian guest to the Army War College and was honored as a “Noble Patron of Armor” by the United States Army Armor Association, its highest civilian award.
