This is a long overdue “thank you” to Credit Union Times Publisher Mike Welch for his August 29 column on female CEOs, “The number of women CEOs shouldn’t matter.” It was right on target. Thanks for his insightful comments and willingness to discuss issues that others would rather ignore. I can remember just a few years ago when one of the major credit union publications ran an article that stated the number of female CEOs at credit unions $500 million or larger was 0%. It was insulting to say the least as I was running this organization and obviously didn’t count. I’m sure Mike’s column has made some people think about their perceptions and attitudes.
