JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Credit Union Commission has scheduled November 28 for the briefing of the Missouri Bankers Association's appeal of the director of credit unions' field of membership expansion approval for Educational Employees Credit Union in Bridgeton. Director John Smith approval of EECU's application to expand its FOM to serve those who live or work in St. Louis, St. Charles, Jefferson, Cape Giradeau and Franklin counties was published in the Feb. 15, 2001 Missouri Register. The MBA and two local banks filed appeals of the decision to the commission in March 2001. The MBA is currently appealing seven credit union FOM expansion applications the director has already approved. Besides EECU, the other six are: Central Communication CU, Gateway Metro CU, Glass Workers CU, City Utilities CU, South Community CU, and Springfield Telephone Employees CU.
