BRAINERD, Minn. – At press time, the Third Annual Community CU Conference was set to take place from Oct. 21-24 in Charleston, South Carolina. The conference is presented by the National Association of Community CUs. The number of CUs converting to community charters is on pace to reach 100 this year. Agenda topics include strategic planning for community CUs, profit-driven community services, business lending, loan participation, commercial lending case studies, call center solutions, political involvement, and branding issues. NCUA Chairman Dennis Dollar will speak on the 24th.
