VIENNA, Va.- Navy Federal Credit Union started off its 2001 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) with Virginia Lieutenant Governor John Hager. CFC is the only authorized solicitation of federal employees in the workplace for charitable organizations. While Navy Federal is not a federal workplace, it participates in CFC under the Department of the Navy. "Recently, we've all been moved by incredibly generous impulses to do something…to give something…to make things better; and CFC is another testimony of our generous response to our country's needs," Hager said. "This is the time to turn a challenge into opportunity." Navy Federal has participated in CFC for over 25 years and has exceeded its fundraising goal every year. Last year's CFC promotion rounded up more than $250,000 from credit union employees for local and national charities exceeding its goal by $35,000. This year's goal is $225,000.
