Hoyle's petition dismissed by Supreme Court

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Former NCUA Executive Director Karl Hoyle’s wrongful termination lawsuit against NCUA appears to be over. NCUA announced today that the U.S. Supreme Court has dismissed Hoyle’s petition for certiorari. On April 25 of this year the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit upheld the decision of the lower court to dismiss Hoyle’s case. On July 24, Hoyle filed the certiorari petition with the Supreme Court. “Due to the total lack of merit to the petition, the Department of Justice recommended to the Solicitor General that the government waive its response; the Solicitor General agreed and the government did not file a response. On October 1, 2001, the Court dismissed the petition for certiorari,” stated NCUA Associate General Counsel Allan Meltzer in a memo to the NCUA Board.
