HONOLULU – Who says you can't have fun playing with sharks? As part of a tongue-in-cheek campaign to raise funds for the Oahu Aloha Chapter for credit unions on the island of Oahu, HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union Marketing Assistant Darren Wong has designed T-shirts that visually capture why credit unions are a better choice-it's safer. "We have a great relationship with the banks here so we decided to target the predatory lenders while having a little fun with it," said HawaiiUSA FCU Marketing Vice President Scott Kaulukukui. "It is a great way for us to raise money and let people know that credit unions are here ready to serve their needs." The Oahu Aloha Chapter raises funds for political action. To date, approximately 250 shirts at $12.50 each have been sold to other credit unions on Oahu and to several vendors. HawaiiUSA FCU has $412 million in assets and serves 60,551 members.
